Аннотация

Investigations of the environmental changes on the Southern Kurils was based on multi-proxy studies of sediments from several paleolakes. Stages of the lake development have been identified. Our study revealed climatic and palaeolandscape changes, ages and ecological effect of volcanic ash falls on Kunashir Island since the end of the Late Pleistocene, and manifestation of strong tsunami during the Middle to Late Holocene in Urup and Shikotan Islands.
